How did the PhD position you for success: My experience in the PhD program was a lesson in patience and perseverance since there were many roadblocks, including losing my first dissertation chair midway through the program, the death of my father, and both my daughter and sister having to go through chemotherapy. I found support during these challenging times through a few of my fellow students. The PhD program did give me a different way of seeing the world and also helped clarify what I wanted to do in life.
