This map shows the home countries of past International Visiting Scholars (diamonds) and international visitors (pins) in relation to the University of Maryland School of Nursing (star).
We welcome visitors from around the world to experience the richness of the UMSON community by collaborating with our faculty, students, and staff.
We offer opportunities for collaboration in research or education-related activities alongside an UMSON faculty mentor. International visitors include, but are not limited to, students, faculty, nursing and health professionals, scholars, and leaders.
Highly qualified applicants from international nursing and health science institutions are welcome to apply to our competitive International Visiting Scholars (IVS) program.
The program strives to expand the individual’s capacity and advance their career trajectory as a leader, educator, researcher, and scholar with a focus on building new partnerships and initiatives between institutions.
We believe in partnerships rooted in relationships and reciprocity, and because of this we strongly encourage program participants to give presentations to the UMSON community, author publishable works, and collaborate on mutually beneficial projects.
We encourage you to explore UMSON faculty expertise in your area of interest prior to applying. The length and complexity of a scholar’s program is determined by a planning and proposal process.
For more information and to obtain an application, please contact the Office of Global Health.
We look forward to hearing from you.
