The University of Maryland School of Nursing will host the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) from Oct. 7 - 9, 2024 when CCNE conducts its reaccreditation site visit for our baccalaureate, master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs and our post-graduate APRN certificate programs. Baccalaureate, Master's, Doctor of Nursing Practice, and Post-Graduate APRN Certificate Programs
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master’s degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program and post-graduate APRN certificate programs at University of Maryland School of Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).

Prior to Nov. 16, 2009, the baccalaureate degree in nursing and the master's degree were accredited by the National League for Nursing/ Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
Professional Licensure and Certification Disclosure
University of Maryland School of Nursing’s BSN and MSN Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) programs have been approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing and graduates of those programs are eligible for Registered Nurse licensure in Maryland. Maryland is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact for RN licensure. For more information on multi-state compact licensure, visit https://www.ncsbn.org/compacts.htm. The University of Maryland School of Nursing has not sought approval of its BSN or MSN CNL programs in other US jurisdictions, nor has the school been denied approval by a board of nursing in any jurisdiction.
University of Maryland School of Nursing’s DNP Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specialties and programs are approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing, and graduates of those programs are eligible for APRN certification in their specialties in Maryland. The University of Maryland School of Nursing has not sought approval of its APRN specialties and programs in other US jurisdictions, nor has the school been denied approval of its APRN education specialties and programs by a board of nursing in any jurisdiction.

Doctor of Philosophy Program
The PhD program is reviewed separately through the UMB Graduate School.
Continuing Education Program
The School’s Continuing Education program, a major provider of continuing education for nurses, is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
