Teaching in Nursing and Health Professions Certificate
The need for quality nurse educators has never been greater. The nation is in the midst of a staggering shortage of nurse educators, and increasing the number of nurse educators is intrinsically tied to expanding the nursing workforce. To graduate more students to bolster the number of nurses who are prepared to provide excellent care to patients, we need more nurse educators well prepared to teach them.
Great teaching can be learned. This 12-credit graduate certificate prepares nurses and health professionals for one of the most influential and essential roles: educator. It will prepare you to make a positive difference in health care outcomes, both directly and indirectly.
Courses are offered fully online, except for the culminating teaching practicum, which requires on-site participation working with an assigned preceptor. You will work closely with your preceptor, a master teacher of your choosing, to create a learning contract and truly dive into the work of teaching.
You can benefit from affordable, in-state tuition and from a prestigious Conway Scholarship, which covers the full cost of tuition and fees.
