Please note that when you are photographed during the Convocation and Commencement ceremonies, your collar will be visible at the neck of your gown and your lower legs and shoes will be visible below the hem of your gown. Please dress appropriately to be photographed. Additionally, graduating students will be required to walk up and down numerous steps during the ceremonies. Please wear rubber-soled shoes to prevent slipping.
The two photography forms below are for students to print, complete, and mail to Northeast Photography:
We want to make every effort to accommodate students with special needs. Please contact Alice Dorr if you are not able to go up and down stairs or if you have other special needs.
All graduating students will be seated on the main floor of 1st Mariner Arena during the Convocation ceremony. Pinners will be seated with their BSN or CNL students on the main floor as well. Family members and friends will be seated in the stands of the Arena. To maintain safety during the ceremony, family and friends will not be permitted on the main Arena floor. Students should select a location to reunite with their family and friends after the ceremony. Graduates will not be permitted to carry purses and bags, as there is not a secure place to store them. Students should leave their personal belongings with family or friends.
It is important for students and their family and friends to allow adequate time to drive to 1st Mariner Arena and to park. Late arrivals may be asked to wait for a pause in the ceremony before being seated. For information on driving to and parking at UMB click here ยป
Click here for hotel information for out-of-town guests.
All graduates who wish to participate in the Convocation ceremony MUST complete a Convocation RSVP. An email with RSVP information will be sent to students' UM email address. When you arrive at 1st Mariner Arena, you must check in with your designated Pinner.
Questions regarding Convocation should be directed to Lori Harris.
