Nursing Entrance Test Requirement
Effective with the 2008 Fall semester the University of Maryland School of Nursing will require successful completion of the Nursing Entrance Test (NET) as one of the requirements for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the School of Nursing.
Students may sit for the NET on April 5, 2008 and still be considered for admission in the Fall 2008 semester.
In order to make taking the test as convenient as possible for applicants to the School of Nursing, we have arranged two options:
Option 1
The test will be administered by Educational Resources, Inc. (ERI) in the Baltimore area. To register for the NET though ERI, call the ERI Customer Service Group at 1-800-292-2273. The fee is $28.50 and may be paid by credit or debit card. The deadline for registering for the NET is 14 days prior to the test date. If applicants are not registered by the deadline date, a late fee of $10 will be charged. Registrations will not be accepted within seven (7) days of the scheduled test date. Registration fees are non-refundable.
Option 2
The test will be administered by Pearson VUE at any of its locations in Maryland and throughout the country. To register for the NET through Pearson VUE, call the ERI Customer Service Group at 1-800-292-2273. The fee is $100 and may be paid by credit or debit card. After you pay the registration fee, you will receive, by mail or e-mail, a registration letter which confirms that you have paid the necessary fees. You will then be given a toll-free number and a web address for Pearson VUE. You will be required to call this number or register online to schedule the exact time and place for your NET test. You MUST register via this phone number or Web address. You will not be permitted to schedule your NET by simply calling or showing up at a Pearson Professional Center. You will receive a letter from Pearson VUE confirming the date, location and time of your scheduled NET. You must bring this confirmation letter with you when you take your test. Additional information regarding requirements for taking the NET will be included in your information from Pearson VUE. Visit Pearson VUE’s website at www.pearsonvue.com/net/.
