Collaboration and interprofessionalism are hallmarks of innovative health care delivery. The symbiosis of oral health and systemic health provides the perfect backdrop for interprofessional learning. This conference will focus on dental hygiene and nursing collaborations and address the larger issues of professional cross-fertilization, institutional challenges, shared goals in providing optimal patient care, and ways to surmount challenges related to access to care and fragmented care delivery.
Attendees will include dental hygienists, nurses, other health professionals, educators in the health professions, and clinical/public health practitioners. The conference goal is to provide information and stimulate ideas related to interprofessional education, research, and practice.
