The Office of Administrative Services manages, plans, and coordinates the administrative operations for the School of Nursing (UMSON). Administrative Services is responsible for budget and finance, facilities and capital project management, human resource services, information technology, and training grants.
There are twenty-four employees that make-up the Administrative Services office, headed by Ann Thomasson, Associate Dean. Budget & Finance and Human Resources are located in the north wing, suite 502. Facilities Management and Information Technology are located in the north wing of the 2nd floor. The office has extended hours from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Budget and finance consists of financial information systems, payroll and procurement as well as the State budget, and assisting with grants and contracts budgets; professional services agreements for clinical practices; training grants; UMSON endowment and foundation accounts and all deans' office funds.
Facilities and capital projects responsibilities are comprised of managing the School's operations/facilities, capital construction projects, space inventory, property management, voice communications, security and environmental health and safety.
Human Resources coordinate recruitment for faculty and staff, compensation and job development, training, affirmative action and diversity issues, employee relation's guidance and advice on human resource policies and procedures to faculty and administrators and fringe benefits for UMSON faculty and staff.
Information Technology (IT) operates and maintains the data network for the SON and provides or arranges for support for many of its computer resources. The IT Help Desk supports School faculty and staff. The first line of support for students is the instructor for the given course. We provide support for:
Additional services available through this department to UMSON's faculty and staff are: Parking, notary services, ID badges, tuition remission applications, keys, phone requests, all procurement processes, W4 changes or updates, daily mail delivery, as well as moving furniture and hanging pictures just to name a few services.
Administrative Services also provided services to our UMSON students by selling lockers and course packets each semester.
