







The Pi Chapter (015) of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society is one of the oldest and largest chapters in the world. Ethel Palmer Clarke, Class of 1906, University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON), is credited with being the "mother" of Sigma Theta Tau. The Pi Chapter was officially established in 1959 at UMSON.
The purpose of the Pi Chapter is to honor those who have achieved high academic success and support scholarship and research at all levels in the School.

Eligibility requirement: Any chapter member who is not a graduate student

Doctoral Student Research Grant
Deadline: June 1, 2012
Eligibility requirement: Any chapter member who is a doctoral student in a PhD, DNP, or other doctoral program
Amount: $1,500
Deadline: June 1, 2012
Eligibility requirements: Chapter member, student in good standing in the master's program; must have completed 9 credits
Amount: $1,000
Deadline: Submit at least four weeks before date of presentation
Eligibility requirement: Chapter member, presenting author, scholarly presentation (podium or poster) accepted through peer-reviewed process
Amount: $400
