Interprofessional Education: A Process of Sowing, Growing, and Reaping

This provocative panel presentation features faculty members from the schools of nursing, social work, and pharmacy discussing how they collaborated to develop a unique multi-year, interprofessional education initiative on breast cancer. This successful collaboration may serve as a model for future interprofessional activities.

Objectives
- 1. Describe the evolution of the Komen Partnership from a single professional activity to an interprofessional education collaboration
- 2. Analyze the creation and modification of a Web-based educational program reflecting the unique but complimentary roles of each health care profession
- 3. Appraise the opportunities and challenges created by the partnership
- 4. Highlight future collaborative activities that can directly reflect care of people with or at risk of breast cancer.
