Race for the Cure®
Online Registration opens Tuesday, April 1, 2008
Due to parking and shuttle delays that many registrants experienced at the 2007 Race for the Cure, the Race Executive Committee is consulting with the management teams of other major events and other experts in the transportation field to effectively manage the traffic flow (from the Komen MD web site).
A Picture Speaks A Thousand Words
Baltimore County Police Department has provided us with aerial photos that identify where we did not execute on our logistics plan and where the plan needs to be changed. We already know that we will line up the runners differently so we can keep both Shawan Road exits on I-83 open and allow direct access to the main vehicular entrance of the Hunt Valley Towne Centre. We will also direct vehicles from I-83 to parking lots close to the Race site that were severely underutilized last year. And we will provide clear travel lanes for shuttle buses and drastically increase the number of shuttle buses.
