Interprofessional Education: A Process of Sowing, Growing, and Reaping

This provocative panel presentation features faculty members from the schools of nursing, social work, and pharmacy discussing how they collaborated to develop a unique multi-year, interprofessional education initiative on breast cancer. This successful collaboration may serve as a model for future interprofessional activities.

Objectives

  1. 1. Describe the evolution of the Komen Partnership from a single professional activity to an interprofessional education collaboration
  2. 2. Analyze the creation and modification of a Web-based educational program reflecting the unique but complimentary roles of each health care profession
  3. 3. Appraise the opportunities and challenges created by the partnership
  4. 4. Highlight future collaborative activities that can directly reflect care of people with or at risk of breast cancer.

Time: 4-5:30 p.m. Panel discussion will be immediately followed by a reception.
