The University
of Maryland School of Nursing is ranked 7th among graduate schools by the 2008 U.S.
News & World Report. This marks the sixth consecutive
time the School has been ranked among the nation’s Top 10 schools of nursing. In addition to
its overall ranking, three of the School’s
master’s specialty programs received top 10 status. The Family Nurse Practitioner program was
ranked 5th, and both the Adult Nurse Practitioner program and the Nursing Service Administration
program were ranked 6th.
National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) Funding
The School of Nursing improved from 58th in 2005 NINR funding to schools of nursing to 31st in funding in 2007.
Funding in FY 2008, included:
- 34 research projects totaling $3,644,053
- 5 funded through NIH totaling $903,9411
This ranking does not include the substantial amount of funding our investigators receive from Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Centers for Disease Control & Prevention/The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (CDC/NIOSH), and other sources.
