UMSON 's 7th ranking banner

The University of Maryland School of Nursing is ranked 7th among graduate nursing programs by U.S.News & World Report. In addition to its overall ranking, three of the School’s master’s specialties received top 10 status. The Family Nurse Practitioner specialty was ranked 5th, and both the Adult Nurse Practitioner specialty and the Nursing Service Administration specialty were ranked 6th. Rankings are done every three years.

National Institute of Health (NIH) National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) Funding

The School of Nursing is ranked 22nd in  research funded by NINR in FY 2009.

Grant Funding in FY 2009, included:

  • research projects totaling $3,064,880
  • education projects totaling $2,496,858

This ranking does not include the substantial funding our investigators receive from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Centers for Disease Control & Prevention/The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (CDC/NIOSH), and other sources.
