The Debra L. Spunt Clinical Simulation Labs
State-of-the-art facilities where health care professions students develop their clinical decision making skills in a controlled, life-like environment.
In the clinical simulation labs (CSLs), students and practitioners gain vital experience by participating in realistic clinical case scenarios with faculty guidance. The practice of simulation-based health care education is advanced through a program of research with the ultimate goal of making health care safer for patients.
The 24 labs are designed to replicate realistic practice environments, including:
- Critical care
- Surgical/operating room
- Home care
- Health assessment settings
The Universities at Shady Grove operate six interdisciplinary CSLs. Each has a multi-focus lab, replicating multiple clinical settings in one lab, as well as a health assessment lab.
